Statutes Amendment (Drug Offences) | 29 29A |
House of Assembly | 21/06/2018 |
This Act makes a number of changes to the Controlled Substances Act 1984 to address the issue of illegal drugs in the community. The Act limits the number of drug diversions to two before a person must be charged with an offence, to increase the penalty for cannabis possession so that it is in line with the penalty for possession of other controlled drugs, and to review the penalties in the Controlled Substances Act to ensure that they are in line with community expectations. |
