This Act amends the Electricity Act 1996 and the Gas Act 1997. The Act allows for practical improvements which broaden the scope under which the Retailer Energy Efficiency Scheme (REES) can be applied. Specifically, the REES will move from having a focus purely on efficiency-based activities to allow for the inclusion of productivity-based activities such as energy demand management and energy demand response. |
