Bill - Fair Trading (Fuel Pricing Information) Amendment
Bill Number - 54
Introduced in the House of Assembly
Bill TitleFair Trading (Fuel Pricing Information) AmendmentBill Number49 49A
Introduced in theHouse of Assemblyon13/05/2020
Precis

This Act amends the Fair Trading Act 1987. The Act introduces a scheme for real-time fuel pricing which will allow for greater price transparency. The scheme will require retailers to report fuel prices, which will be made available to consumers to make informed choices about their purchases. The aim of this scheme is to increase fuel price transparency overall and to provide more accurate and reliable information to consumers to better inform them when purchasing fuel. Allowing consumers to gain a better understanding of the fuel price cycle will create a greater opportunity for consumers to take advantage of the lowest point of the cycle and in turn benefit from potential savings.
