Legal Practitioners (Senior and Queen's Counsel) Amendment | 66 |
House of Assembly | 17/06/2020 |
This Act amends the Legal Practitioners Act 1981 by setting out the process by which a legal practitioner who has been elevated to the honour of Senior Counsel, via a process under the supervision of the Supreme Court, can elect to seek a Queen’s Counsel appointment. The change reflects a clear position of a majority of the legal profession in South Australia and aligns opportunities for senior South Australian legal practitioners with other jurisdictions which have already made this change. |
